Heystack One Best Practices and Tips

This guide explains the best practices for using your Heystack One Device.
1. Shield usage
Upper shield inserts come in light, medium and dark.

One of the three upper shields should be used at all times for optimal image quality
Lower shields come in black and green.

The black background shield is best paired with the dark light shield insert to capture exceptional images of cards in plastic holders like sleeves, toploaders, magnet holders or slabs.
The green background shield is recommended to capture exceptional images of raw cards when paired with the light, or medium colored light shield insert. This includes reflective, prismatic, and shiny cards.
Users should experiment with the 3 light shield inserts with each of the 2 background shields to determine which formula captures images that meet with their personal desired aesthetic for each image type.
2. Front Switch
There are 3 settings for the front switch
Device off (O)
Device on with light and fan (II)
Device on with only light and no fan (I)

3. Power
If you allow your Heystack One to be run down to a completely drained battery, it will
take 30 or more minutes of charging before you can use the unit, even while plugged in.
When you receive the Heystack One, the battery will be partially charged.
The Heystack One battery lasts approximately 3 hours of continuous usage in setting II, with both lights and fan on, and approximately 4 hours in setting I, with only the lights on.
When you see the lights beginning to dim, it’s time to recharge the battery.
It will take approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.
The Heystack One works great when plugged into a wall plug.

When plugged in, to recharge, you will note the light on the charger is RED. This means the unit is charging. When it turns green, that means it is fully charged.
4. Bluetooth
If your device is allowed to pair with the Heystack One Unit, but will not, try turning off and on the Bluetooth device and re-pairing.
Each Heystack has its serial number sticker readily visible on the bottom of the device. If it has been removed, please note the unit’s serial number is the same as its bluetooth name.
To find your device’s serial number, check the phone the unit is paired with and look at the bluetooth names (ex: HEYSTACK V2.135)
If your Heystack One unit is paired with a specific phone, it may not appear as visible to other phones, or be able to pair with another device.
If you need to switch phones the unit is paired with, go to the device it is paired with, and click “forget this device”
The unit will now appear as visible and ready for pairing with another device.
