Heystack Seller Spotlight: Bourbon City Trading Cards
March 14, 2025

This week, we had the chance to talk with Paul Blackburn, who runs Bourbon City Trading Cards on eBay. Paul is one of our Beta Testers using the Heystack One Device, along with our software. He’s a family man who uses the hobby as a way to bond with his son and daughter. The three of them enjoy opening various products and listing cards together.
Before using Heystack, Paul would photograph his cards by placing them on a card stand within a lightbox and setting up his phone on a tripod. Ensuring the cards were properly aligned and centered in the frame was time-consuming. Additionally, Paul had to ensure good lighting while avoiding glare or dark spots in the images. Anyone who sells cards knows how challenging it can be to capture a high-quality image. Below are images of the same card: the one on the left was taken with Paul’s old method, while the one on the right was imaged with his Heystack One Device.

After struggling to take high-quality images, Paul would then need to download the photos from his phone to his computer. With Heystack’s mobile app, images are instantly uploaded directly into his Heystack account.
“It’s really efficient to get the kids to do the pictures and by the time a stack is done, the cards are already processed and ready to match.”
The Bourbon City Cards eBay store has taken off since Paul started using Heystack, growing from 2,500 active listings to over 8,000. Paul has plans to double this number and reach over 15,000 listings within the next 90 days. With the improved image quality, his sales have picked up rapidly, and customers now have a clearer understanding of what they’re purchasing.
“I’ve noticed that people don’t reach out asking about condition anymore. My listings are much more transparent and consistent. The addition of the corner images makes my listings much more engaging and clear.”
Paul and his family oen open products on release day and aim to be one of the first sellers to market. It has always been a challenge for him to upload a large number of cards on release day due to the time involved.
“I’ve never been able to get a significant amount of cards up on release day, but for 2025 Topps Series 1, I was able to get 400 cards listed on release day and set the market with my listings.”
Paul loves how portable the Heystack One Device is compared to traditional photo setups or scanners. “It’s great being able to bring the device downstairs and image cards while still being part of family conversations.”
Before becoming a beta tester, Paul had used other card recognition software and listing tools, but none of them compared to Heystack, despite being available longer. With Heystack’s help, Paul can get his cards to market much faster than before, with better images and titles.
“This is the best thing to happen to the hobby for people who sell cards. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
