Listing Makeover #2: Mosaic Made For More
March 13, 2025

Welcome to the second installment of our Listing Makeover series, where we find eBay listings with subpar titles and images, purchase them, and give them a complete listing makeover.
In our first installment, we gave a Listing Makeover to a vintage card from 1951, but this time, we wanted to pick something a bit more modern. With the basketball season in full swing, we landed on this 2014-15 Panini Prizm Jimmy Butler Yellow and Red Mosaic parallel.

The image of the card is so cut off that it completely leaves Mr. Butler’s full name, and the name of his team, outside of the field of view. The image is missing the bottom corners of the card, which are necessary for buyers to learn about the card’s condition.
And this might just be me, but running a card like this through a scanner is just criminal – the yellow and red mosaic pattern could really pop with an in-real-life image.
In fact, using a scanner to image cards en masse can come with its own problems. Scanners compromise the card’s true colors and true pattern, especially chrome cards. It can also be easy to overlook certain images where the scanner didn’t *quite* get the job done. Here are some of our favorites.

Luckily, we didn’t have to settle for a scanner image. The Heystack One device and our recognition software provided us with everything we needed to make this makeover a piece of cake.

The new listing truly captures the aura of this card. The mosaic pattern and colors are quite smashing, and not only is the entire card in the field of view, but Heystack’s corner cropping feature now includes images of all eight corners in the listing.
